SafeBulk — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 15, 2026
SafeBulk (“the App”), provided by Henry Osterweis (“we”), is a bulk product editor for Shopify stores. This policy explains what data the App accesses, why, and how it is handled. SafeBulk is designed to touch as little data as possible: it works only with your product catalog and never requests access to customer personal data.
Information we access and store
- Store identity: your store’s myshopify.com domain and the offline access token Shopify issues at install, used to authenticate API requests on your behalf.
- Product data: product and variant fields you choose to edit (title, price, compare-at price, tags, status, inventory policy, SEO fields). Before every job, we capture a snapshot of exactly the fields being changed so the job can be reversed. Snapshots are stored to power one-click rollback and job history.
- Job records: metadata about the edit jobs you run (filters, the changes made, timestamps, success/failure per row).
We request only the read_products and write_products scopes. We do not access orders, customers, or any customer personal information.
How we use it
Solely to provide the App’s functionality: previewing changes, capturing pre-job snapshots, applying edits, verifying results, and restoring previous values on rollback. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it except as needed to operate the service (see below).
Service providers
- Shopify — the platform your store and product data live on; all edits are made through Shopify’s Admin API.
- Fly.io — hosting for the App and its database (United States region).
Data retention and deletion
Snapshots and job history are retained to keep your recent jobs reversible. When you uninstall the App, Shopify notifies us and we delete the data we hold for your store. We also honor Shopify’s mandatory privacy webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact); because we store no customer personal data, the customer requests have nothing to return or erase, and shop/redact triggers deletion of all data for your store.
Your choices
Uninstalling the App from your Shopify admin revokes its access and initiates deletion of your stored data. You can also contact us to request deletion at any time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
