Answers to the questions we hear most about SafeBulk: what it does, how it protects your catalog, and what it does not do yet.

What does SafeBulk do?

SafeBulk is a bulk product editor for Shopify. Filter your catalog by tag, vendor, product type, status, title, or price, then bulk-edit price, compare-at price, tags, status, vendor, product type, inventory policy, and SEO title and description across every product that matches. Nothing is written until you have seen a full diff of the change: every product and variant, old value next to new value. Once a job runs, SafeBulk checks that every change actually landed and retries anything that did not.

Is my data safe? What is the “snapshot”?

Before a job changes a single field, SafeBulk captures a snapshot automatically: the exact pre-job value of every product and variant field the job is about to touch. That happens on every job, on every plan, including Free, with no manual export step and no way to turn it off. It is what makes one-click rollback possible afterward.

What can rollback restore, and what are its limits?

One click on a finished job puts the fields it changed back to their pre-job values, and SafeBulk verifies the result matches the original exactly; if it does not, it says so plainly rather than reporting success. Rolling back also snapshots the current state first, so the rollback itself can be undone.

Two honest limits. If a field changed again after the job ran (for example, you edited it directly in Shopify), SafeBulk skips restoring that field rather than overwriting the newer value. More importantly: SafeBulk can only reverse edits it made itself. It has no record of a product or variant you deleted directly in Shopify, and it cannot bring one back. The same goes for changes made by other apps: if SafeBulk did not make the edit, it cannot undo it.

What does SafeBulk cost?

Free costs nothing: up to 5 edit jobs a month, up to 50 products per job, with the full snapshot and one-click undo included. Safety is never behind a paywall, on any plan.

What can SafeBulk not do yet?

SafeBulk v1 is small on purpose. It does not do CSV import or export, metafields, SKU, barcode, or weight editing, title find-and-replace, scheduled edits, multi-store management, or order and customer editing.
